1st December 2019

Welcome back to our annual Advent Calendar. We hope you enjoy the pictures, words, and videos each day. We would also love you to send us ideas and contribtions, anything that makes you feel seasonal, or Christmas decorations that you really love.

Today is Sunday 1st December, so it is Advent Sunday. We light our first candle on the Advent Crown.

Sarah is delighted with her Advent Calendar, the way that the Lindt Teddy is peeking through the door, just waiting to be eaten on 24th!

Adam is also delighted, but mainly because he gets chocolate everyday!

I have got 2 Advent calendars; chocolate in one and teas in the other (I put the teabags in the little chubby holes myself last week. Then I have 24 knitted Christmas trees, or I will have, to add to my Christmas garland AND twenty-four decorated tea lights AND possibly an Advent candle...we haven't hung the Advent calendar Christmas Tree yet... you can Never have too many Advent calendars.

My Lindt Advent calendar seems to be missing 5 of its chocolates - looks they dropped out the bottom of the box during transport...

Very lovely. By contrast we (youth and leaders) ate the contents of a whole Advent calendar in 10 minutes at church last weekend as we shared what was special to us about Christmas.

Advent Calendar 2024

24th December 2024

Made it! Hope you enjoyed all of our pictures, stories and videos this year. There's lots we didn't manage to fit in, like (Dave Walker  https://cartoonchurch.com/ ) (V&A Christmas Tree by Anna Lomax https://www.vam.ac.uk/event/wkwjeoDARmw/christmas-tree-installation-2024 ) What if Bach wrote Last Christmas? If you are on the socials over the next few days, check out the hashtags #DuvetKnowItsChristmas #XmasWithTheInlaws #AdamsCooking on Twitter and Bluesky. And we'll see you again next year. Lots of love!
