17 years we have been at our place in Old Woking, and 17 times we have received a card for the previous owners. Despite us forwarding it on, they keep on coming, year after year. So either the "Stapes" a) don't want to tell them their new (2004!) address b) don't know the person's address and so can't tell them c) are wilfully disorganised d) are tormenting us until someone dies or we move away So Happy Christmas to all the "Stapes" and their mysterious correspondent!

It's now the 16th anniversary of us getting one of these cards, this year's arrived yesterday: The Staples moved out in 2004 and we still forward the card every year. Maybe one day they will tell their friend they have moved house. Or the card will stop coming and that would also be sad. 2004 was also the year a re-recorded Christmas Number One had some ill-advised rapping on it. And unlike the first re-recording, it didn't feature every artist in the Stock Aitken Waterman stable. Yes, it's Band Aid 20. Sugababes! Coldplay! DIDO!! Crank up the volume, dance round the office, it's Video Friday!
