16th December 2024

Delayed again but this time by a terrible cold - now getting better! We were sent an exciting email today about the location of the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest! Yes, Switzerland won in 2024, and they have chosen Basel to be the home of the show. We've been to Basel quite a few times, usually to visit the Vitra Design Museum just over the border in Weil am Rhein, Germany. Basel is very interesting, it is a tri-point which means it is where 3 countries meet. At the airport you can either leave into France or Switzerland, don't go through the wrong door! We were also excited by the Eurovision Christmas merch: If you are excited too, you can get your Christmas jumper from  https://shop.eurovision.tv/product-category/new-products

3rd December 2014

This year has seen our renewed interest in modernist architecture, and we had a happy weekend in Stevenage looking at the New Towns and Garden Cities of Hertfordshire. We can recommend John Grindrod's book Concretopia , and so we were delighted to find a blog combining gingerbread houses with Brutalist design. Check out the Present and Correct blog. Our favourite is the Vitra Design Museum in Basel, because we've been there! Shout out to Shaun & Samantha Jordan, friends of Adam from school and college (who met and got married without knowing they had a mutual acquaintance in him), who were first off the blocks with their Christmas card which arrived today. How many have you received so far??
